The Patriarchal Compound is a unique legacy of old Moscow that has survived to the present day
Project details
For the development of the lighting concept, a significant factor was the length of the architectural complex, a lot of viewpoints from the Zaryadye park and Naberezhnaya street, as well as from the Varvarka street and nearby lanes.
Lighting solutions were applied in such a way as to save a single composition of the entire ensemble, while emphasizing the architectural features of each church, giving it the effect of lightness and airiness. The main points of view are located near the building at different height levels, therefore, the important tasks were to focus on the plastic of the facades, the creation of harmonious combination of light and shade, and the elimination of unnecessary blinding effect.
