Project details
The Clubhouse Bunin is a benchmark renovation project for a former apartment building built in 1907 on Pliushchikh Street. The Khamovniki district is the cultural and historical center of Moscow. Over more than 100 years, the building has repeatedly changed its purpose, from residential to commercial. The architects' goal was to restore the building to its historical purpose while carefully preserving its appearance.
The building stands at the intersection of Plyushchikha street and Neopalimovsky lane. The two main facades were left without radical changes: having cleaned the walls from plaster, architects decided to keep the facades in brick and to paint it white. Window openings were expanded, thus creating French balconies for living spaces. Centuries-old walls filled with modern technology represent true luxury for heritage lovers.
The clubhouse Bunin has four entrances. Each boasts a unique design, a reception area, an elevator, and access to the courtyard. The architects also designed the interiors of the lobby and apartments. They continue the building's architectural concept, combining classic and contemporary elements through the use of a variety of materials: from metal and wood to marble and mosaic. QPRO team developed a lighting solution for the public spaces that highlights the clubhouse's unique architectural features. The focus was on the functional aspects of the lighting.
Minimalist modern lighting fixtures are unobtrusive, providing general illumination of the space and highlighting architectural and decorative elements. The lighting solution emphasizes the clubhouse's prestigious status and its unique design, while also creating a comfortable and safe lighting environment for residents.
In the evening, light spills through the tall arched windows on the first floor, creating a subtle contrast with the crisp white faсade. It enhances the intimate atmosphere of this private living space, which is so beautifully integrated into the historic building's architecture.
